NDNP Open House

The UNLV Project team hosted a site visit from Deborah Thomas, the Library of Congress Program Coordinator for the NDNP on May 28, 2015. It was a great opportunity to show our progress in the project and learn more about the Library of Congress’ role in the entire operation. We were able to have almost everyone from the NDNP Project team in attendance as well as Nevada Project Partners (from Nevada State Library and Archives and University of Nevada, Reno) Karen Starr and Donnelyn Curtis.

Along with the site visit, we held an Open House for project targeted to UNLV Library faculty and staff. Deborah gave a great presentation on the Library of Congress’ role in the project and an overview of what we actually do. She also included some wonderful tidbits on how to promote the project once it’s been ingested in the Chronicling America website. It was a great success, and now library faculty and staff have some idea of what we actually do all day!
