Progress update

We are happy to share our excitement of reaching various milestones along the long and sometimes bumpy road towards the end goal of the second grant cycle (2017-2018)  — digitizing 100,000 pages of historic newspapers from Nevada!

We have divided the digitization work into 10 batches named after Nevada boomtowns. In addition to the main production batches, we have a batch sample reel  — this is the very first batch and it’s used to establish the workflow and to ensure that our work meets the standards set by the Library of Congress. The final step that completes the project cycle is the microfilm deposit in the Library of Congress for long-term preservation.

If you wish to track our progress, this is a great place to check what we are currently working on. We update the graphic in the beginning of every month, so come back and check how we are doing!
